Electric Bikes That Look Like Motorcycles But Aren’t

Electric bikes are becoming popular as the days go by. It’s because they are efficient, environmentally friendly, and some of them even have a smart design that will make you want to buy them!

But, if you are a motorcycle lover like I am, you may wonder if there are any electric bikes out there, resembling motorcycles. Well, the good news is brands have come up with electric bikes that look like motorcycles.

In this guide, I have found a list of the best electric bikes resembling motorcycles. So, read on!

Do Electric Bikes Look Like Motorcycles?

Electric bikes often come with pedals that aren’t seen in motorcycles. However, you can still find some electric bikes that offer the rough appearance of a motorcycle.

Let’s discuss some electric bikes that look somewhat similar to motorcycles in the next segment!

Which Electric Bikes Look Like Motorcycles?

Given below is the list of the most famous electric bikes that resemble motorcycles:

  1. Moto Parilla

Moto Parilla manufactures Italian E-Bikes. However, this brand’s electric bikes stand out for their motorcycle-looking appearance.

When you look at the appearance of Moto Parilla e-bikes, you will find that the seat area looks just like a motorcycle. But, did you know that apart from its unique appearance, Moto Parilla bikes have more to offer?

For instance, you can take this bike not just for your daily commute but for rough terrains as well.

Its construction is excellent as the frame is made up of high-quality carbon fiber and aluminum. Moreover, it features full suspension, along with gigantic Maxxis 4.8″ tires. These tires can help you ride your e-bike smoothly on any rough path with ease.

The only complaints about this bike are its high price, less production, and slightly less power.

But, if you’re looking for a cool e-bike with a sturdy build like that of a motorcycle, Moto Parilla won’t disappoint.

  1. Rayvolt Electric Bike

Rayvolt electric bike resembles an antique, and vintage motorcycle due to its retro yet adventurous design.

Now, the brand’s tagline is something like “Harley Davidson Of All E-Bikes’”, and I definitely cannot deny that, given the outstanding features, Rayvolt offers.

First of all, Rayvolt electric bikes are extremely huge, which gives them an overall grand appearance. But, they do offer a lot apart from their appearance. They offer great power which makes it easier to ride this beautiful electric bike.

You can also install the Rayvolt app if you buy this bike. The app can essentially record your movements. For instance, it knows when you apply the brakes. This is possible as the e-bike has sensors that allow the app to gauge your performance.

However, there are a few drawbacks to this e-bike. Due to its enormous design, it’s too enormous for you to carry it anywhere. Additionally, it is also a bit pricey with an unconventional design that a lot of e-bike enthusiasts may not prefer.

  1. HPC Electric Bike

Both the E-bikes mentioned above are manufactured in Europe. But, if you are looking for a USA-manufactured electric bike, resembling a motorcycle, then opt for an HPC electric bike.

HPC has come up with several electric bikes, but the one that I found resembling motorcycles the most is the Typhoon

This electric bike offers a black and gold appearance, that can give you the same feel as motorcycles do! Moreover, it is perfect for riding on difficult trails due to its high-powered battery.

Unlike most other electric bikes, HPC uses a chromium molybdenum frame. Thus, one huge benefit of opting for an HPC electric bike is its lightweight nature.

The one major drawback here is that the Typhoon’s seat might not be suitable for short riders.

  1. Azbo Electric Bike

The Azbo Electric Bike is yet another beautiful antique-looking motorcycle. The standard jet-black appearance gives Azbo a simplistic yet badass look!

Apart from its appearance, Azbo has other specifications to offer. It has a Shimano 7-speed gear, that lets you decide the speed of your journey. Moreover, it has Kenda tires, that are perfect for any type of terrain. So, you can ride this electric bike on both dangerous trails and city roads.

Note that Azbo electric bikes might not be as easily available as other electric bikes.

  1. Vintage Electric Bike

According to the manufacturers, Vintage Electric Bike is the fastest electric bike all over the US. But, if you’re more concerned about the appearance, then you will find that this bike looks like a vintage motorcycle. Its rustic and black colors definitely add to its power.

Some of its great features include a robust build that provides durability to this bike. Moreover, it has built-in lights, a silent mechanism – which I have found is quite rare, and an efficient braking system.

However, the Vintage Electric Bike is slightly expensive and doesn’t feature a removable battery either.

The above-mentioned five e-bikes look the most like motorcycles. Apart from these, you will also find Revi Bike and CAB Electric Bike offering a motorcycle design.

Are Electric Bikes the Same as Motorcycles?

There are several differences between electric bikes and motorcycles. Therefore, they aren’t the same in any way. Given below are the various differences between these two:

  1. Structure

One of the biggest differences between electric bikes and motorcycles is their external and internal structure.

Electric bikes are somewhat like traditional bikes. They come with pedals. So, you need to pedal them and let the electric motor assist your movement.

However, if you’ve seen motorcycles, you would know that they don’t have any pedaling mechanism. The throttle controls its movement.

Yet, I have discussed a few electric bikes above that offer the appearance of a motorcycle too.

When it comes to the internal structure, motorcycles contain several parts that you won’t find in electric bikes.

  1. Legalities

The legal requirements for both electric bikes and motorcycles differ significantly. For example, if you have a motorcycle (electric or gas), you would have to pay the below:

  • Road tax
  • Insurance
  • Vehicle registration

Moreover, you will need a license too, if you wish to drive a motorcycle. But, you don’t need to worry about any of these if you opt for an electric bike!

Apart from documents, let’s focus on the mandatory clothing requirements too. First of all, you need to wear a helmet compulsorily if you wish to drive a motorcycle. You also need extra protective clothes for the same.

However, you don’t need to wear any of that compulsorily if you’re driving an electric bike. Still, it is safe to wear a helmet and drive your electric bike.

  1. Speed

One limitation of electric bikes is their speed. Unlike motorcycles, electric bikes cannot run at an extremely high speed. The reason is the law. According to US laws, electric bikes are only allowed to run at the maximum speed of 20 mph whereas motorcycles can go up the speed of 75 mph.

Therefore, you might want to opt for a motorcycle over an electric bike if you need a speedier vehicle.

  1. Maintenance and Cost

Electric bikes are low on maintenance, unlike motorcycles. They don’t contain complicated parts like a cooling system, that requires proper care and maintenance. Similarly, electric bikes have a low running cost. There is no need to buy fuel. Also, most of them don’t require charging either!

Alternatively, motorcycles require proper maintenance due to their complicated internal parts. They are also costlier due to fuel requirements.

  1. Health Perspective

One of the most underrated benefits of electric bikes over motorcycles is their health benefits. Although motorcycles offer comfort and convenience, pedaling an electric bike can help you stay fit.

  1. Easy Commute

Both motorcycles and electric bikes offer easy commute. They are more compact than cars. Thus, you don’t have to worry about exploring narrow streets if you have an electric bike or motorcycle. Moreover, motorcycles offer excellent speed that can help with a quick commute.

There are certain benefits to electric bikes too. Some cities offer cycling spaces. You can utilize them with your electric bike, and reach your destination more easily.

Which Is Better – Motorcycles or Electric Bikes?

If you are confused between buying a motorcycle or an electric bike, I suggest asking yourself these three questions:

  1. Do You Need a Fast Vehicle?

If you need a fast vehicle, you should definitely opt for a motorcycle. It can go up to the speed of 70 mph, whereas electric bikes stop at 20 mph.

  1. Do You Need a Convenient Vehicle?

Electric vehicles are more convenient due to three reasons. One, you don’t have to worry about the gas or petrol problems. Second, you can make use of the special cycling space available in various cities. Third, you don’t need a license, insurance, or proper registration papers to drive it.

  1. What Is Your Budget?

Finally, electric bikes and motorcycles might be a tad bit expensive. But, in the long run, electric bikes have lower running costs due to no gas requirements. Moreover, they are easy to maintain, unlike motorcycles.

Final Thoughts

I hope that this article gave you all the clarity (and excitement!) you needed to buy your next electric bike. Some people are hesitant to switch to electric bikes from motorcycles, but when they look this impressive – who wouldn’t be tempted to find the perfect e-bike for themself!
